TL;DR

Can you still do something about the price increases? Yes, but with an expiry date. The Microsoft 365 E7 promotions (10% and 15% for 1 year, 15% for 3 years) can only be bought through 30 September 2026 and then disappear. The E3 promotions (10% for 3 years, 20% for 1 year) are extended to 31 December 2026, but the large E3 discount requires 250 licenses or more. The Purview Suite for Business Premium is 50% off through 31 December 2026 if you also have Copilot. The discounts run through CSP, so confirm the exact terms with your partner.

Why it's urgent

After the July price increases the recurring question is: can we still act? The answer is yes, Microsoft runs a set of promotional discounts through CSP (Cloud Solution Provider, the partner model). But they have hard expiry dates, and some are right around the corner.

The key thing to understand is that these are partner promotions, not permanent price cuts. They are built to get you to commit, typically for one or three years, in exchange for a discount that only applies to that period. Some require a certain number of licenses. And they disappear on the date without warning.

I go through the three most relevant here: E7, E3 and Purview for Business Premium. For all of them, the exact terms and your eligibility must be confirmed with your CSP partner, because the promotion structure in the CSP channel changes over time.

The E7 promotions: last call 30 September

Microsoft 365 E7 (the Frontier Suite at $99/user/mo, bundling E5, Copilot, Agent 365 and Entra Suite) has launch discounts that stop entirely.

The offers are 10% and 15% on 1-year agreements and 15% on a 3-year agreement. They can only be bought through 30 September 2026. From 1 October 2026 the E7 promotions retire, and then only the list price remains.

If you are considering E7, this is real time pressure. If you already pay E5 ($60) plus Copilot ($30), that is $90, so E7 at $99 is only $9 extra to also get Agent 365 and Entra Suite. With a 3-year 15% discount on top the math gets sharper, but only if you act before 30 September.

E7 only makes sense if you actually use all four components. A discount on something you don't use is still wasted money. Do the math on your real needs first.

The E3 promotions: extended to 31 December

Microsoft 365 E3 ($39/user/mo after July) has discounts that last longer, to 31 December 2026.

There are two offers:

  • 10% on a 3-year agreement (typically for customers new to the offer).
  • 20% on a 1-year agreement. This requires a purchase of between 250 and 9,999 E3 licenses with a 1-year commitment through CSP.

Be honest about what that means for you: the large 20% discount targets bigger organizations. If you have fewer than 250 employees, you are not in the target group for that one. It is worth saying out loud, so you don't build a budget on a discount you can't get.

If, on the other hand, you are a larger Danish business that has to renew E3 anyway, 20% for a year is a significant amount. Get your CSP partner to run the numbers before New Year.

Purview at half price: E5-style compliance without E5

This is the most overlooked of the three, and it fits smaller businesses well. Microsoft Purview Suite (compliance and data governance tools, normally reserved for E5) can be bought as an add-on to Business Premium at 50% off through 31 December 2026.

The condition is that you have Business Premium plus either Copilot Business or Microsoft 365 Copilot. The discount applies to an annual commitment and the first year only.

The point is worth understanding: it gives a route to advanced compliance for an SMB on Business Premium, without having to jump all the way up to E5 ($60/user/mo). For a business working toward NIS2 or the D-mærke that already has Copilot, it is a concrete way to get more compliance tooling at under half price.

If you have Business Premium and are considering Copilot anyway, factor the Purview discount into the decision. It makes the combination more valuable, but only through 31 December 2026.

How to approach it

The promotions are only worth money if you act in time and on the right basis:

1

Match the offer to your actual plan

First decide which license you genuinely need. A discount on the wrong plan is no saving.

2

Check license count against the terms

E3's 20% discount requires 250 licenses or more. If you are smaller, focus on the offers you can actually get.

3

Prioritize by deadline

The E7 offers die 30 September 2026. If you are considering E7, that is the first decision. E3 and Purview last to 31 December.

4

Ask your CSP for a concrete quote

The discounts run through the CSP partner. Ask for a calculation with and without the promotion for your number of users, so you see the real difference.

5

Weigh commitment against saving

A 3-year discount ties you in for three years. Are you sure about the plan that long? The discount is only a gain if you actually stay on the license for the full term.

Frequently asked questions

When do the E7 promotions expire?+

The E7 launch discounts (10% and 15% for 1 year, 15% for 3 years) can only be bought through 30 September 2026. From 1 October 2026 they retire, and then only the list price of $99/user/mo applies. If you are considering E7, it is the most time-critical of the autumn promotions.

Can a small business get 20% off E3?+

No, not the large discount. E3's 20% offer on a 1-year agreement requires between 250 and 9,999 licenses through CSP, so it targets larger organizations. If you have fewer than 250 employees, you are not in the target group for that one. Ask your CSP partner which offers fit your size.

What does the 50% Purview discount require?+

You need Microsoft 365 Business Premium plus either Copilot Business or Microsoft 365 Copilot. Then the Purview Suite can be bought as an add-on at half price through 31 December 2026. The discount applies to an annual commitment and the first year only.

Can I order the discounts myself?+

No, they run through CSP (Cloud Solution Provider), that is, your Microsoft partner. Contact the partner and ask for a concrete quote with and without the promotion for your number of users. Terms in the CSP channel change over time, so get them confirmed in writing.
