When is M365 F1 the right choice?
F1 is the right choice for frontline workers who use Teams for communication and work on managed or shared devices. F1 includes Intune Plan 1 for device management and Entra ID Plan 1 for identity with Conditional Access, and it has a 2 GB Exchange Kiosk mailbox for the Teams calendar. That makes it well suited for retail, warehouse and production workers where you want to manage devices and keep license cost down.
When should you choose a different plan?
Choose F3 if employees need to send and receive email, have full SharePoint access or write in Office. Both plans have 2 GB, but F1 only grants the right to use the mailbox for the Teams calendar, and the Office web apps are read-only. Neither plan has desktop apps or a 100 GB mailbox. Choose Business Basic if they also need full OneDrive and full Exchange.
